Well I'm off to California next weekend, and I don't envisage anyone taking over the plane and flying it into the Empire State Building, if however such a thing does happen, fairwell all!

well, just in case, add me to your will for the zed, so it gets well looked after.

Just in case of course

"Tonight is a testament to the greatness of our country... we are reminded that America can do whatever we set our minds to."

from the mouth of a certain president yesterday but just takes a hell of a long time and involvement from pet countries (shame to say including the uk) to do it

My Z goes to my son, by the time he's old enough to drive it, it'll be 32 years old, by the time he's old enough to insure it, it'll be 42 years old, by which time it'll be fully restored and like a brand new car, because Rose will have had it stripped, re-built, dipped in gold and silver and modified to hell!

Its well known the mayans already understood the workings of how the solar system and galaxy worked.

Here are some things which the Mayans believed

it is known that the Maya believed that the cosmos had three major planes, the Earth, the underworld beneath and the heavens above.

What is often called Maya 'astronomy' is really astrology, that is, a priestly science resting on the assumption of an influence exerted on earthly events by the movements of heavenly bodies and constellations. The observation of sky and horizon by present-day Mayas relates chiefly to celestial signs of seasonal change relevant to agriculture. With but few exceptions, the names of certain stars and constellations is all that has been preserved

Horizontally, the earth is conceived in various ways: as a square with its four directional or, perhaps, solstice points, or as a circle without such fixed points. The square earth is sometimes imagined as a maize field, the circular earth as a turtle floating on the waters.

The Maya practiced human sacrifice. In some Maya rituals people were killed by having their arms and legs held while a priest cut the person's chest open and tore out his heart as an offering

Loads more fascinating stuff about the Maya here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_civilization#Astronomy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maya_religion

Oh and by the way, the new age nonsense about the Mayan calendar prophesying the end of the universe in Dec 2010 is just that: wibble. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayanism http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_phenomenon

You can tell it's a Bank Holiday and I really should be working, can't you? :D

Never let a little research get in the way of an opinion!

im glad he is dead, wether he is or not wether he died recently or not

its public now and good riddance to the vile hatefull b4stard

Do you recon they found Bin Laden because he sent back his census form ?

No, Chuck Norris killed him after he found his details after hacking SONY.

mmmmmmmmmm could be right there!

I'd say he doesn't regret much at all now.

Its well known the mayans already understood the workings of how the solar system and galaxy worked. it was others (after the mayans) who thought other wise based on religion, and we all know where religion gets us.

As i said, the US invaded a country for 1 man, lets put this into perspective now shall we, for 1 man, they invade a country, kick out the current government, set up bases, fight so called terrorists (heaven forbid anyone calls them freedom fighters, ok not all of them are, some are still taliban), gets hundreds of US and UK troops killed in the process, yeah that makes sense to me. cant be anything to do with oil. oil just so happens to be plastered over the entire region

Then there's saddam, who everyone knows had WMD's.....oh wait, no he didn't. but everyone believed the US (including the UK) when they said they did, and all anyone got was "Sorry" when the truth came out, despite the fact US and UK troops where dieing over in Iraq based on the fact they had WMD, but you know, always believe main stream media and the US about things, they never lie :whistling:

So if I've offended anyone with the fact i don't believe mainstream media on this subject, then really sorry there chaps.

The US is renowned for lying its ass off about things, and draggin the UK along with it .:tt2:

Totally agree - plenty of other conflicts in the world the allied forces could get involved in but don't. Zimbabwe is the first to spring to mind, especially as it was the UK government who went in, arse raped the country, then when it all got a bit real back in the 70's and Mugabe came to power they fled and there's been genocide there ever since. And no UK military intervention, just lots of finger wagging and consternation from afar....why? Coz they already f**ked that country years ago!

I said Mugabe next!!! Although should have been before Sadman and Bin Liner :hammer:

read this thread with interest!

I live in Riyadh currently and we are now on heightened alert due to expected retaliation etc.

If he is not dead then it would be utterly humiliating for US if he shows up again! (fake moon landing and other consipiracy theories not withstanding!)

The US will /have gone to great pains to be seen to understand and respect the Islamic beleifs and customs relating to death - exhibiting his body or not commiting it to a grave within the approapriate time after death would cause great offence to the muslim population - which would leave them open to additional criticism at such a very sensitive time.

As with all conflict, who is the hero and who is the terrorist depends on which side you are on - it sounds obvious but its true. There are as many people in the world who beleive that 9/11 was a resounding success and a justified act of retaliation for the actions of the west, as those who beleive it was an unprovoked act of terrorism.

All I know is that there is a lot more to the back story of this than just the killing of one man. IE the amount of innocent pakistan nationals killed by Predator stikes as the US were looking for OBL and shooting anything that was remotely like a viable target etc etc...

anyway, at least its knocked the bleeding royal wedding off the front pages!
