I am curious if there was a race between the two who would win. My mates for a type r and i have seen him beat m3's. So i wondering if anyones had any experience or thoughts???

He always keeps telling me that he would win, he pushing about 240 with some basic mods.

you people on here are very biased. just because we own these cars, doesnt mean we have to say theyre really that great. FFS most of us are weekly if not daily having problems, and this forum is crammed with post about faluts/problems/stuff not working/ bad turbos/ duff engines etc. so lets be realistic, yes we like these cars, but there are actually pretty cr*p most of the time.

standard vs standard, yes im for the TT but a 240hp civic, as in the question. is not something id consider a 'walkover' in a standard TT.

now a TT on 1bar or plus, yea, i think would walk it. but on 1 bar, a TT has had about 800-1000 spent on it by that point.

s13 depends what you call fast. sure a 500hp TT is quick so to speak. but just for having 500hp doesnt mean its stupidly fast. i have a few mustangs in the club with 500hp, but theyre not fast, poweful yes, fast no.

now friend of mine, has a 680hp supra single turbo, now that car IS FAST.

BMW M3 e46. quick, fast NO

300zx TT on 1 bar boost, quick yes, fast NO

just to give you an idea of what i call fast.

GONZO meet tonight in Newmarket, take you NA or TT up there, and ask for a tuned civic to race you down the a14. then repost here how sorry you are.

Come on Mr Cool you are starting to get overheated:sweatdrop: to be honest who care's what car is fastest we are here to enjoy and cherish our 300zx so wind your neck in and relax you dont want to race on the public roads and lose your licence or worst kill yourself or someone else because that is were it will end, think on Mr Coolq.

Each Jap manufacturer makes maybe a couple of good cars and Honda made the NSX i wouldnt class a civic as one of their good cars id compare it to the Nissan Micra :)

Don't say that, that is an INSULT to my Micra :(

Totally off topic but what happened to your signature and that dude? :confused1:

I haven't re subbed yet, I'm holding my £15 back because I'm going to Amsterdam a week tomorrow and I heard that buys you 5 mins of someones time

Haha as much as I love the Zed forum I reckon that's where my cash would be going as well :whistling:

My best mate has the ctr. and we have raced many many times on the track. and i have also driven it. and i would say it was about the same as my vectra gsi and was a tad faster than my n/a supra

on the straight (trackday) i recorded 163mph and he was behind and got 126mph (and ruung out of puff, his words) and that was over a little straight and through the bends i also had the edge (but ive spent alot on handeling mods)

And also off the odd roundabout we would have a little play so both rolling i would gain alot over him. He also drove the zed and said it was far quicker than his ctr.

I was running decat and filter at the time, so he modded his ecu exhaust and filter. and he still couldnt keep up with the zed, but it was closer

Then i tweeked the boost ,injectors and smic and it left him for dead.

Week later he sold the ctr and bought a zed '

old civic 0-60 5.7

300zx TT LWB 0-60 5.0

Like i said i wouldnt even entertain them not a beast of a car just like someone who cant afford a real Jap tunable car i rate it on the same lines as a Focus

Now if you wanna tune up a civic i wonder how much power you could get going through those front wheels before your just spinning, RWD or 4WD only worth tuning

Now i thought i read that we was talking about a standard civic against a zed well i can tune anything up its just how much can you put through the front wheels. In fact if we are going for tuned cars against each other put it up against Randy Roth`s zed

coolq, first drop the attitude. i beat a R8, doubt all you like but me and the R8 driver sure new about it.

a lot of us know the limits of our cars. if you think that sitting in some tiny tin can that propels you forward and just "seems quicker" is better than the zed, sell up and go buy one. then you can talk *****cks over on a civic forum about how its gods gift to racing.

There are plenty of Zeds on here that have beaten civics, its not just down to the car its down to the driver as well, same with the R8 race. so the Audi kicks out 400bhp, my zed isnt that far off. and to be perfectly honest BHP figures mean jack shit, its all to do with how well that engine can turn the wheels and get the power down.

We are a zed community, yes there might be some biased opinions on here, but i for one am speaking from experience not some ego trip, there are a few cars out there i know my zed would loose too. a civic is not one. i dont have to go powering it down the A14 and putting lives at risk just to satisfy some strange civic loving passion you have.

As for personal attacks, i suggest you keep thoughts like that to your self. i do not drink so can not have one to many "vodkashots".

The fact of the matter is, a civic owner has to plow a lot of cash into his car to get it to beat a 300zx TT - FACT

RYm0frSCZdI

old civic 0-60 6.4

300zx TT LWB 0-60 5.0

If were talking about the old, old Ek9 Type-r then the 0-100mph test is even more telling of a cars true performance

old civic 0-100 - 17.5 secs

300zx NA 0-100 - 16 secs

300zx TT 0-100 - 13.5 secs

Edited by Yowser

well i was talking about the 2.0 old shape so 2000-07 i think!

In that case

old civic 0-100 - 16 secs

300zx NA 0-100 - 16 secs

300zx TT 0-100 - 13.5 secs (11.5 secs with basic mods - 1bar)

Comparable to a NA Z in stock form.

Edited by Yowser

is the zed that quick though,,,didnt a certain legend of a forummer get beaten by a fiesta:rofl:

What is the point in saying "my tuned car will beat your stock one" who really cares :sleep1:

I had a Integra type R DC2 before owning the Zed, which was fairly heavy modded (engine and suspension etc) I used to love getting it on with the CTR's some i'd walk over and other's, usually the supercharged ones, would laugh at me :) but there's no way they would out run or in any way be quicker all round than the Zed TT

I'm still a lover of the ITR and would love another one for a run about because the Honda imo is a great car but lets be realistic when taliking figures, a 3.0 V6 TT challenging a CTR modded or not, we all know what the outcome would be :)

*oh and he's bs'ing about pushing 240hp with basic mods. Going by 'max power' or 'suggested' power gains perhaps, but I've had a few done up vtecs / B and H series and the only one close was a H series with lots of mods at 230hp. To get much further costs much much moneys so I'm highly sceptical about the suggested power of his civic. No offense to him or that but definitely something I'd sooner see proof of before believing.

what he said

i spend a few bob on my H22a and got to 230.
