The previous owner of my Zed fitted oversized discs to the front without going up in size with the calipers so as you can guess it only grabs half of the disc and now looks like this -

Ordered new pads today as yesterday after some heavy braking down from a "high" speed whilst playing with some of those crotch rockets on the roads just now :scooter:, It started grinding like hell as if they have been wearing uneven due to a sticking piston!

So once the new pads come need to get the pistons etc. freed off and back to stopping me! lol

They will work better as it has more disk to grab on every revolution but bigger pads would be better lol

I have two front disks off my breaker in good condition and not very used (almost no lip onthe out side edge) if your interested pm me dude

Gonna have a look at how they have moved up sizes in discs first dude, hoping it's just extended carriers so it's reversible :/

Then I'll be looking at different discs :)

my mate has got 324mm discs from an M3 on the front of his 200sx with Z brake setup. His brakes are phenomenal.

Its all to do with leverage, those brakes should out perform stock ones as the pad grips the disc further away from its axis. Many big brake conversions are like that, doesnt stop them working correctly.

Ahh cool, the brakes were really good before the pads gave in the other day there.

Just need to work out which pistons haven't been doing the job properly and get the new pads put in and hopefully jobs a good'un ::whistling:
