Lol, don't want to start an argument :) I currently have an S2000 and miss the rear space so the LWB seems more attractive...

I'm still undecided if I should go see that car down south, it'll be a good 5 hours drive. I'm kind of put off after seeing the bad reviews on here or the dealer...

Don't suppose there is anybody down that neck of the woods that would meet up with me and help me check over the car? Beer tokens available :)

Only snag is it would need to be tomorrow (Friday)...

It's a long shot but if anyone can help? :)

Thanks,

Mark

It reads well UK Zed, one owner, FSH, full mot six months tax price is fair and looks good in the pics (except wheels are the wrong way around)I would ask why the owner sold it and of course check for rust. Plus the dealer should guarantee the engine and box for at least three months, so imo it looks good to me.

Crest cars have a bit of a bad rep Im afraid on here. Have a search of the forum to see.

I bought my car from Crest Cars in June 2009 and (touch wood) it's been remarkably reliable so far...that's 2 years in June.

My experience was therefore good, but can't speak for everyone.

That said, once I bought the car, I realised that the rear shock absorbers were shot and had to get them replaced within weeks. Make sure that you drive the car yourself, and don't just ride in it.

Hi Mark,

welcome to the club mate!

I actually live about 6 miles from this dealer and know exactly where he is! Sure I am aware of his reputation - but he has also had the odd nice one go through his hands I believe.....

I can't make it tomorrow though as I have a couple of meetings during the day. But to save you the drive down, I could take a look on your behalf on Saturday.....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Cheers Richard, really appreciate the offer...

Are you sure you don't mind?

If it turns out to be a nice one then I could look at making the trip down on Sunday.

Also looking at Jaikai's car but ATM having trouble with insurance with it being an import. The difference is unreal £600 for the UK one £1300 for the import!!

Thanks again,

Mark

It's no bother Mark - I actually drove past there last Saturday and saw it on the fella's drive! I'll give him a call tomorrow afternoon to check he still has it then I'll pop along Saturday morning.

If it's any good then you can plan your trip; but if it's crap it will save you a long journey mate.

As for insurance, there are plenty of companies now who don't charge such a premium for imports; I personally have a UK spec on a classic policy, but I'm sure you'll get plenty of recommendations on here.

I can vouch for JaiKai's Zed though mate - I saw it at JAE last year.

Welcome mate :) and DON'T even bother looking at the Crest Cars zed, it will be a shed! The bloke is a rip off merchant and lies on the adds he makes. I went to look at one he was selling. He said it had a full service history, well it did but it stopped in 98! The car I looked at was only fit for the scrap heap.
