hi guys how do i supply power to heavy items such as fridges etc on a mobile vehicle so i can run them while on the streets?

 

anyone know anything? its for an ice cream van, i have a whippy machine that has a gurt cable on it but dont know how o get good power to run that and everything else of the van alone for street trading.

 

surely an inverter of some sort?

did i:confused:... some of my post must of went missing after you read it then:lol:. they do have the method ive mentioned but also have power take offs from engine too mate,think it depends what model and system you have..how does yours work and do you have just a fridge or soft cream too??

You would probably be better with a split charging system with a battery in the back as well running all your electrics, I am going to get one in my next van.

 

Am not 100% sure whats involved but I will ask one of my mates who is an auto spark and get back to you.

 

As for PTO's, I spoke with one of the local McConachies tyre guys who has a PTO running his compressor on an Iveco he can get about 150 miles from a tank of diesel

when its used a lot, not to discount it but something to think about. Normally he gets 400 miles to a tank. I dont know how long its in use.

 

Might be worth googling it as well.
