My boot lock has decided to break and wont turn or open the boot, I`m just wandering if they are all the same ,lwb,swb, and has anyone got one with a key?

lol, really ,really stiff, i had to use pliars to open it, and then it wouldnt turn again , i think its fubarred:angry:

Was just thinking that you could spray some cleaner like wd40 or brake cleaner into the barrel and it should free it up. But as you say It may well be fooked! lol

I will give it a go with some WD, but i`ve had a prod around inside and may have made it worse:pinch: cheerz anyway dude

I never use it!

The boot lock barrel has anti tamper tumbler built in, it activates if a key other than the correct one is inserted and locks the barrel, unfortunately as the keys start to wear it sometimes drops down with the correct key!

 

But no need to replace, just disassemble the barrel and reset the first keyway closest to the key entry end of the barrel, and all will be working again.

 

The job is a bit fiddley but as it is a free repair its worth having a go.

was it easy? was it that little clip thing?

done mine aswell. Never worked since ive owned it :lol:

 

Mine way all oxydised inside, took the spring off the back amd used tons of WD and job done. need to do the drivers and passenger doors now :wack:
