have you got the fob thingy

if so..and im not trying to take the p!ss..have you changed the battery it might be low

You might only have the valet key, but then it should still unlock the doors at least.

Before taking off the door cards to check the mechanism, try the boot first, take of the plastic centre cover and take a look at the barrel from inside the boot and see if it rotates when you turn the key. I assume the key fits the locks but isnt turning them.

righto.. so you are sure that it isnt just a replaced ign barrel (therefore new key) fitted to a car that still boasts its original door locks, and the original key is now lost in space?

the locks are probably stiff through lack of use... try spraying some wd40 into the lock and see if the key will at least ease it then... if it feels like its probably the right one then it may be a case of removing each barrel and stripping it, cleaning and lubricating all the parts and rebuilding. Its not that hard to do just a bit time consuming. :thumbup1:

This is so common looking back at previous posts. What happens is the door and boot locks sieze up through lack of use. ie fob is used to lock and unlock the car. I also had this problem, as already suggested WD40 and some key wiggling, it can take a while but i'll bet this is the problem. Dont force the key to much and break it, then you will have a problem.
