I've been advised that UK spec door cards can be altered to accommodate the seatbelts fitted in the doors of Jap spec cars.

 

Anyone else carried out such a modification and, if so, how difficult is it?

You will need to cut out the card at the bottom for the anchor point entry and also will need the Jap top cover. If you have your J spec door card, make a little template out of cardboard, measure and place it over the UK door card and cut with a stanley or dremel. You can then use the plastic cover to go over the hole.

Also where the belt goes back into the door, you will need a little cut out there too and use the jap plastic cover bezel.
