I ought to add that its had delimeter fitted and everything now reads in mph including mileage. Speedo has MPh and Kph readings- just really essay as though some greasy fingered child has got in there to fit it! May be wiser to just take it out and try and clean it up.

Yes mate, Uk clocks in a J spec, will eliminate the need for a convertor and the odometer will also read in miles, will not be able to use the whole dash in a series 4 as the connectors are different, but the speedo dial and board should be ok.

Thanks Groover. have the one out of the UK spec now- will find time next weekend to do the swap. Now anyone know what will happen if i swap the Jspec clocks into the Uk car?

You also need to swap the odometer unit over as the only reason it currently reads in miles is because of the convertor reducing the speed input signal to the whole cluster by a 1/3rd. When you remove the convertor to fit the UK speed dial fit the UK odometer as well. It has different gearing to the Jspec unit.

You need to do this or else the odo will read in KMs again... The UK odo mileage can be carefully altered to your cars mileage before fitting it.

going to be doing this at the weekend. Think I may have confused myself with questions. SO as I understand it I can just drop the whole UK clock set into JPEC and it will read in MPH and odo will read in MPH. I need to alter the mileage to match mine so how do I get into the internals to do this?

Thanks

Take the binnacle apart, und the 2 screws that hold the oddometer and unplug its loom from the back of the speedo, the unit will slide out from the binnacle.

I would rather not go into detail about how to adjust the mileage on an open forum, best PM JeffTT for instructions lol

This might help http://www.pexcom.com.au/z32cms/e107_images/Odometer%20Repair.pdf

thanks for the advice guys. All swapped over and working with correct mileage. Just the damn finger print I left on the inside of the binnacle means I'll have to take it all out again at some point!!!
