Is my mobile number etched into this car somewhere?. It's on it's 4th owner since I sold her and yet I'm still getting calls from new owners asking me to help them with the car. Everyone who has owned this car has phoned me asking about this and that. Every tine I've helped them out in hope that one day I will get my number plate back which was part of the original deal. I know that the last 3 owners where not obliged to honour this as it was not part of the deal when they bought the car. But after all the help I've given I'm now getting a bit tired of it.

Owners promising turbinate back when they sell and others trying to sell me the plate back and for what?. To be used as a first line support contact if something goes wrong with it!. Fook this I'm done.

Hi Stu

Understand how you feel.... Why not buy it back yourself, change the number and sell it on ? Bet that if you bought it back though you'd hang on to it !

Hope you get it sorted

Tony

Dude, its four owners on from you. Just say sorry you cant help and direct them here instead.

Its not your issue by a long shot.

agreed, explain you havent owned teh car for x amount of time and owners and that you cant be sure what it has or doesnt have since you last had appologies and explain if theres anything historically you need to know email me but please dont call. direct them here for help and advice its what its here for at the end of the day....

Hey guys. Sorry, I went off on one there for a bit. I exPlain in a polite way to the new owner that I don't know the cars history for the past three years. It's just annoying that my number us automatically passed to the new owners.

Thanks for the call Tony, it was good to hear from you.

Stu change your number to a premium rate number and make some money back :smartass:

Just refer them to this site mate and let them get on with it

Just to clarify a few things here i was never told that the number plate was yours Stu and i did have it apraised and told you if you wanted it i would knock off 50%!

I am sorry that you feel this way i never set out to upset you:no: or ever misled you in any way, i posted here the results of the valuation and you never ever implied it should be yours anyways i am truly sorry.

As for the contact my bad:surrender:when i purchased the car all your paperwork bills etc were in a carrier bag and i sorted them threw and put it all in a "box folder" with your contact details on the inside so i apoligies for any inconveinence caused stu like i said never intended to upset....anybody:blushing:

Dave

Did the number plate have any extra value to the car for the new owner or was it purely worded so that it would mainly be of Value to Stu??

It's a short number and obviously a personal plate, but it's Stu's initials. So no, it doesn't add any value to the car, but it is clearly a valuable personal plate.

If I'm honest if it was me buying the car now I would want to keep the plate (on the car). To me its now part of Silver Streak as much as the bodykit and paint is, it has no longer become an identifiable mark of Stu, more a mark of Silver Streak.

Thought so mate, ta :cool2:

In that case with no real value to the car itself and as it's wildly known Stu always wanted it back some day, don't see why when the car was sold that the plate wasn't retained and sold back to Stu for cheap as chips and re registration costs as a good will gesture!

IMO of course....

In fairness tho mate you know a great deal about it, it's history and previous owners and the you know the reg has always been apart of it, the new owner may not know any of this course and he sees it as a nice example silver Zed.

Silver streak and it's name is well known to us and the longer standing members.

Lol gotcha mate and to be honest i'd be the same, however English reg's over here are as about much use as a chocolate firegaurd, so that's out!!

cant the owner of the number plate just inform dvla he wants it back? i dont get how the plate goes with the car when the car has a owner and number plate has one to. The car is sold to a new owner but the plate remains property of the purchaser doesn't it? (unless stu put some else as the owner) and i dont understand why Stu should have to pay to get in back tbh when he purchased it in the first place even with a discount....i doubt the buyers paid extra for the number plate.

Why was the plate sold with the car if you wanted to keep it? When I bought my Vectra GSi years ago It had a cherished reg, the car reverted back to the original reg and the seller kept the cherished reg.

Why was the plate sold with the car if you wanted to keep it?

I believe it was missplaced good faith with the first buyer that he would give Stu the plate back.
