Would running a chipped ECU (JWT in my case) be better for fuel consumption or would a standard ECU be better do you reckon?

Considering running a standard ECU during the week and if I'm going to be playing with the Zed, change it over for the chipped one.

Pretty sure it would be worse as the ruling is upped on the jet chip !! I'm running this chip at the mo! I think diesels get better mpg when chipped

no difference. done this test myself, chipped ecu over a full tank, then unchipped. same distances achieved. goin on the same routes.

if you wanted to do taht you really would be better off with a switch and an ebc with multioplue settings so you can lower the boost and run on the standard fuel map.

the best way to get better MPG if you are toying with the ECU is to clear the ROM and do a ROM download that specifcally attends to High MPG. Could you do that with the standard ECUI? I doubt it but an aftermarket version would let you do anything.

Yea I have a Greddy E-01 to control the boost and an AFC to alter anything else. Just wanted to see if it would be worth while sourcing a standard ECU to do my daily driving with then change it to my chipped ECU and high boost settings when needed :)

After putting the Mines ECU in mine over the standard one my MPG is TONNES better oddly. If I drive everywhere aggressively it's much worse of course, but day to day driving and motorway etc it's brilliant without the standard ECU.
