Trying to fit Eibach lowering springs but if I position the bottom of the spring right up to the lip where the oe one sits and then the top end to the ilp in the rubber same as oe then the the shock won't go back on. THe top and bottom mounts don't line up by about 30-40 degrees.

I compared the oe and Eibach spring and they aren't the same, the oe one is a few inches longer, these came off a Z.

How do I positon them so the shocks fit???

Yes its an issue with different wound springs, always ensure the tail of the spring is located at the bottom on the metal stop, the depression in the top rubber will NOT line up so dont try to.

When the top rubbers are new they do not have any depression in it only due to the old springs been built up that way, build up the spring and shock, check it against the car to see the oritation of the top mount.

Thanks, so basically position the top mount so it lines up to fit and the weight and time will do the rest?

Just got everything back together and back on the floor but one side is about 20mm higher than the other at the back, could this be due to the rubber and it just needs to 'sink'?

Anyone, want to look at it tomorrow if its not the rubber top mount needing to sttle. Thanks in advance.

Are your shocks in good condition? Are you 100% sure that you have correctly rebuilt the shock/spring assembly in the right order both sides?

Wouldn't have thought the rubber would allow a 20mm difference, the weight of the car would soon right the rubbers.

Did you check to see all the springs were equal at least in their pairs?

When I changed my springs/shocks and put the car back on the ground it sat quite evenly. It didn't really settle much neither only a matter of about 5mm after a couple of weeks.

Sorry can't be any more help...

Still got this problem which is really annoying, changed the shock on the lower side as it was iffy. But still a height difference??? Any ideas as it pi@@es me off everytime I look at the back of the car!

You might have already checked, but i found with mine, that the the rear eibach springs are different from the front, ie the smaller diameter of the spring is different. I didnt realise this when i only had my fronts done, until i came to fit the rears lol. I had to take all my shocks off and start again and now all sit perfectly.

You will find that one pair of springs will only fit on the rear. If you are having problems with the seating of the tail on a spring for the rear then that may be your problem.

Nearly caught me out when doing them to, realised and swapped one back, matched the part numbers for the two pairs. Any other ideas? Could it be one really good shock and one a little slack??

It could be, i got new Tokico gas shocks on the rear, but went back to oem on the front ( long story involving a pothole lol) all sit fine now, worth a try changing the shock that seems too low.
