Noticing GT28's can be had for reasonable money.

a) would it be worth fitting them over stock?

b) I assume the only supporting mods needed are bigger intercoolers, bigger injectors (what size?), 5 bolt elbows and a tune up?

c) if running them on an otherwise stock engine what kind of power and torque increases can I expect?

and do you mean garret t28s??? if so a few of us on here have them, VERY good mod. ;-)

not sure then mate, but if theyre the same from the 200zx/ 180sx depending where your from, then they make big power will intercoolers, injectors, mapping. higher boost etc. over 430 easily. and over 400lb/ft of torque.

Really? *Ponders how reliable that would be* :p

Currently pushing 15-16psi on stocks but you can just tell it's at the limit of the turbos. It's probably running 350-360 at a guess. I guess it's just the turbo's/exhaust elbows which are the difficult bits to fit huh?

Will they give a lag/kick? The T25 on the s13 has a great kick at 3k or so, but the s14 T28 doesn't.. its so smooth it's hard to tell there's a turbo on there! I'd imagine as they are bigger turbos there should be a lag then a surge, but from experience is that really the case?

hard to say mate, my car reacts very differently depening on the settings.

i can have slow and low boost, or immediate 'kick' as you say, i set mine for linear but i can easily have lag then a massive 'kick' depending on the boost controller rates, but if set up right there is small lag, with huge power at 2k up to 7k, but ive only ever been in my car using this setup, others may be different.

I have been told in the past that 2 T28's with a few supporting mods can result in 500BHP at the fly. I am also looking at going down this route once the other car sells

your not wrong murt. seen some high numbers on mine, but i have a fully forged engine. after sadly blowing the 1st. done right you can see over 500 at the fly (but not too much more ;-) )

I did think that standard internals on a 300 can withheld 600bhp?

How did your first one blow :(?

have no idea. was just told the engine is blown and needs either headwork or replacing, i opted for the latter and had the full forged package at the same time.

have you searched? T28's are old technology, GT28s are much better but there loads of different options and it's important you choose the right one for what you want.
