can someone recomend some products and tips on how to clean my car properly? some black paint is starting to fade, i know its never gonna be the same but id like decent budget cleaning kit to clean my car with.

I now swear by Chemical Guys products - check them out at http://www.chemicalguysuk.com , they have some detailing kits available. Their stuff is easy to use and gives great results.

 

And to say that the paint will never be the same is not true -I've seen properly detailed paint looking better than when it came out of the factory ;)

i swear by auto glym esp for black or dark cars use the ultra deep shine polish

in a white pot with black righting and there shampo and paint cond

 

magyres wash and wax is good as well you may pay a lot more than say halfords own

(other brands avalable) lol but you get what you pay for

 

Oh to every one a must try is dodo juce purple glaze dont get me rong it is bl**dy pricey

for a very small tub but it is the best thing since sliced bred

Have you any good products for taking light swirls from the paint. I got it painted 2 yrs ago but slight swirls have appeared. Not to bad but im fussy, and its a dark colour so it shows. It get well shiny but the swirl does my head in!!

removing swirls by hand is a b!tch - get yourself a DA polisher. I have a kestrel DAS6 with Sonus pads and a variety of polishes/sealants. If you go dual action and not rotary, youre pretty safe.

 

using sometihng like AG Super Resin Polish will only fill swirls and they will reappear. best thing is to head to detailingworld website and look at some of the kits offered by companies such as 'serious performance', who are an official trader on gtr.co.uk alex creasy is a very helpful chap.

compound followed by coats of wax can restore colour loss.... and remove light scratches, not suitable for all though but certainly worth a mention, works wonders with sun bleached red paint
