Well my white Z crawled into its final resting place today so I thought I'd give it a bit of a forum send-off.

When I bought it back in 2009 it had been maintained but not necessarily looked after too well, the paint was different shades, and the seized turbo would have cost the previous owner too much to get repaired.

Within a few days the engine was out and the seized turbo replaced.

Last year I decided to do something about the tired paint. There were no long term plans for the car as I was looking at reshelling at some point, so painted it meself on the driveway :thumbup1:

Ready just in time for the 2010 local shows, (day before lol)

Rust had started to creep through on both rear arches and sills, the big killer of many Z's, especially the UK versions... so it was time to swap out, hence buying the black one.

And as the white Z looks now, ready for stripping, but especially ready to donate its twin turbo engine to the black one ;)

Tis a shame when it comes to this..

But at least it went out with a final Hoorah, dignity intact!

You did all you could Baz, but like with pets you love, sometimes the kindest thing you can do is have them put down :2guns:

RIP White (and red.. and pink) Zed

Hit the nail on the head there Leo; at least I gave it a good home and some new shoes and appearance for a while rather than it end up in the wrong hands and written off :thumbup1:

Sorry to see that one go dude, does this mean next time I come to your alladdins(sp?) cave there won't be a white one on the drive to mark your house?

RIP UK Zed Rust In Peace. You did a good job Baz keeping it alive for this long, thank god for JDM imports from salt free roads.

Amen to that!

I can't believe how rust and rot free my import is.

And the best way of keeping them that way? Keep them off our winter roads!

keep em for the good weather.:thumbup1:

Its a shame, if you know a good body shop can there not sort the rust or is it cost to sort all the rust mate?

its actually not 'that' bad mark.. there's cars out there that are a hundred times worse, the sills dont have holes in... yet

I suddenly wanted a black Z to follow in the footsteps of my previous one, so put all the dilemmas together and I ended up with the best result (for me ;) )
