Hi,

As I have just got a TT, just wondered what chip/ecu people go for, on my impreza I have a simtek ecu as people say to stay clear on chips and get a proper remap.

Also, what type of power can the TT engine handle without changing turbos and uprating internals?

Getting the body work sorted first just woundered for the near future.

Thank Mark

Zedworld chip and boost jets = about 70bhp increase in power. Not an expensive option either, but would suggest that you make sure engine is all in good order, and you get an induction kit and new exhaust (poss decat) first. I've been led to beleive that all that should get you about 100bhp extra.

As stated here for your info.

A chip can cost around 100 quid plus whereas re mapping existing ECU on rollers/road for a few hours and burning a chip off to suit could cost around 3-5 times more.

Should you upgrade further, then re mapp again!

Zedworld ones though more expensive, they do fully assess your engine first to ensure it is ful working order and boost leak free, they then road test and reasess again.

John Dixon and DTA will either post you a chip for you to fit or supply a replacement ECU with a chip already in it on an exchange basis.

When you think you have finally finished all your upgrades and are using bigger injectors and turbo's, then yep re mapp what you have to suit your specific engine and mods.

a proper remap will always be better and give you better figures but as said its much more expensive. my car is running standard injectors, turbos and internals but when mapped by steve at fc tuning made 437hp :D previously i had a top secret (the tuning company) chip/ecu and made 372 hp. a chip will realistically give you upto 380hp. (with supporting mods)

yassa, lets see how fast you are in a road race. then we can verify this power. (yes ive seen the vid) but it is faster than a 380hp TT??
