rear tyre wear

Just replaced my rear tyres. Old ones badly worn on each inner edge of the tread. They are 265/30/19's. 40psi. Is this just the way it is or will tyre pressure changes help any?

P.S. I also noticed a bulge/softening on the inner tyre wall about the size of a 10p piece. This could have been very naughty! Keep an eye out guys.

Hey Coogs,

Sounds to me like you've increased the size of your rims & possibly lowered the car without making the corresponding changes to your camber setting. This will cause the suspension to "toe in" as it were and wear out the inner edge of the tyre.

Hope this makes sense mate,

Danny

Coogs, were the tread blocks worn evenly and flat??? If they had a sort of ramped edge on the inside edge of the tread blocks then this could well be the rear toe in wink.gif Get the alignment checked or you'll be going through tyres like nobodys business wink.gif

At the price 19" ers come at you might even be wise to switch the tyres side to side - means having them off the rims and switched to the opposite wheel then the good tread is back to the inside edge if you see what I mean

But better still get the camber back to zero on wide low profiles cos theres no give in the sidewalls. Also make sure toe in is on zero too

As the multi-link suspension has no camber adjustor - how would you reset it.
