Ken what are you driving?

My auto UK spec ticks over at about 800/900 rpm but manuals I think tick over at slightly less!

You can adjust the tickover but some of the more tech orientated guys can help you with that. Not really my domain TECH! LOL biggrin.gif

You can reset the tickover via the ECU by disconnecting the battery for about an hour.

Maybe AndyP or Az can help you further.

Go take a look at www.z-car.net The tech section documents how to adjust the tickover. Take no notice of Tim - he's obviously on the ale !!! smile.gif

Tim,

It's a UK TT 1993 standard spec.looks like the PCV springs need changing any body done this?.

I'm about to change my PCV valves & hoses this week. Should be an interesting "operation" as they are a real bugger to get to and even worse to remove ... Will let you know how I get on. By the way, I've posted the Nissan prices in the "Price Check" area but beware that the actual valves are on back order at Nissan (+_ 1 week).

Take care,

Danny

If you follow andys link that should point you in the right direction for the tickover - my bet is the idle valve is a bit sticky - instead of removing the whole unit just remove the hose going to it (metal pipe running along pass side of plenum goes to a rubber hose which disappears round the back to the valve assembly) and squirt plenty of carb cleaner in - this will free it up. If you've just cleaned the throttle bodies then the crap from doing this can be washed to the back and clog up the idle valve assembly wink.gif

Regarding the PCVs you will save ALOT of time by removing bits that are in the way wink.gif Don't think it will be quicker just seeing if you can squeeze your hand in that gap wink.gif Also make sure you get the hoses too, cut the hose halfway along its length, loosen the pcv valve with a pranner then use the hose to unscrew the valve the rest of the way. Sorry it was a bit long winded biggrin.gif

CheerZ,

Andy
