Where can I relocate the sidelights now that I have replaced my fog light lenses with ducts? Can it go in with the indicator lense?

Featured Replies

If your indicator units have a hole for the bulb holder, yes.

Mine did have as they had turn lights (but I replaced with a clear lense which was just indicator), but earlier models may not have these.

Some aftermarket corner units have a hole for bulb holders in addition to the indicator.

agreed..... if you are good at cutting, you could always cut the bulb holder key-way yourself.

It should be obvious where it goes.... if not i can get you a pic...

Yeah I had a look at them, there is no hole but the moulding is there to be cut out in the small area to the side of the indicator unit.

I'm not 100% sure but doesn't a UK car have the sidelights in with the indicator lenses anyway?

i relocated mine to the indicators location. had to cut a new hole for them. - 99spec indicators.

UK car has sidelight and Indicators where your Jap fog lights were, and have blanks where you have your indicators.

Was it straightforward to do? Did the wiring stretch far enough?

yeah easiest way is to get yourself UK spec with harness...

pic of my crystal ones...

if you did your own you could use the fog sideline holder but it is two pronged not three.

I got a set of crystal lenses and then bulb holders of a UK spec kept my fog lights though but wanted the sidelight in the indicator housing :)

yeh, standard harness and bulb holders were fine.

I had to cut the hole in the bottom of my indicators and mount from underneath, becuase of the different design of the 99spec indictors, but relatively straight forward.

A dremel tool would be easiest, to get the right shape.

These fit our cars but you can only use T10 bulbs, ideal for the side markers but really for the front indicator sidelights you need the same bulb holders as the indicators, then of course you can buy the 382 bulbs that will give you 21 watt, a reverse bulb or the led, smd equivalent :thumbup1:

Well as you can see from the above photos the relocation has been done now so i'm in no rush to do it. But it would be handy to have the correct fitment going forward.

On eBay for £20 plus postage so how does £15 sound and I'll stick them in the post to you?

Will remove them tomorrow and clip the wiring harness as well.
