thats been for sale so many times and the price keep's going up

is lee selling it :lol::lol:

Was going to ask a question to see if the wing mirrors are included in that price?

£65k - who would pay that for a ford? I know Lotus Cortinas go for double that, but thats a different thing altogether IMO.

What's next? Lada Riva Elegance, dry stored 17yrs - £35,000 :drool:

lol!

I know a mini in dry store from when it was a week old in 1985. He is looking for offers around £20,000.

Thought they were two tone green & white..?.

its not a lotus, its an rs1600 which boreham made.worth loads more than a lotus.

i think the 0 key must be stuck down on the keyboard, surely a 40 year old ford should be £65!?

LOL - very true mate!!

I would not pay £65k for an old Ford no matter what its heritage or how good it was. It's still an old Ford Escort; plus there are much better classics out there for less money.

What are E-types or DB5s going for nowadays.....?

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I remember a guy in the south west at the Brean down stage using an ex works Daily mirror Mk 1 escort which had been driven by Roger Clarke,he parked it up when he found it it was valued at £100,000 .Serious folks these little old fords make big money now.The rs 1600 is like rocking horse shit now.id prefer a gt40 myself though but the rs is probaly rarer.

And who'd have thought it.....?

Back in the late 1980s they were laughed at! Whose having the last laugh now though.........:blush::surrender:

I have to say though it does seem crazy but ford purists would argue its well worth it,who knows?? all i know is they are ubber rare now,an engine rebuild on one costs ten grand !! iirc.Parts are in short supply and specialists have tooled up and made new components so the costs have rocketed.Quirky little cars and so predictable to drive.I love them but each to there own i suppose, ive always had a soft spot for Escorts and some othe choice Fords ie 3.0 litre capris, cosworths etc.

I quite like the old skool fast fords now as well. I must admit I thought they were a bit naff in the late '80s/early '90s but now the chavved up rubbish has all been trashed and (generally) only the good survive, I've a soft spot for the Capri, Escort MkI & II (particularly MkII RS2000), and Cortina MkI, II & III.

I recall TV programmes like The Sweeny and The Professionals with fond memories; and then Life on Mars brought it all back.....
