need to get another car, any one know much about these cars?

ive had a 323 e36 before and loved it RWD e.t.c. but then again A Subaru 2000 would be awesome too due to the sound and 4 doors e.t.c and being a turbo.

im guessing if driven carefully both cars should do around 20 mpg around town too.

Yup - I agree with what Allan said......

Richard:cool3:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

e36 are horrid cars to drive imo.

scooby all the way, should see an easy 25mpg around town :)

i must admit i test drove an e36 years ago and hated the seating position, really glad they sorted it for the e46 though

My parents had an E36 323i S, which was awesome to drive, I had my GTR at the time and the seating position was very familiar, obviously not as fast or nimble as the GTR was, but loved driving it.

We had an original shape Scooby WRX Wagon in NZ and I have to agree, you have no rationale when it comes to the loud pedal, because you can near enough keep your foot on it all the time if you stay awake and have an IQ over 50, without even risking stacking it!

Spot on

every chav and barry boy has a scooby now, and is the reason i didnt get a P1 and got a GTR, i loved these cars until they started face lifting them and the prices plummeted cause they were gross, then then chavs came, then the scooby was fooked and has been ever since

Ive had both the e36 325i se and a 328 coupe both very nice cars.... but the 328 would be my choice stronger engine to according to bmw :)

Why is it just between the Scooby and the Beemer?

Scooby is cool car IMO, Bm's are just soooo common - outsold the mondeo in 2008 or something.. Yeah, so Scooby's have got a bit of bad press of late. But if I were going to choose between 2 Chav cars, I'd have to go with the Scooby and laugh everytime I wasted a Bimmer 32-couldn't give a fook-i.

While the snobs would start going on about superior engineering and craftmanship, I'd be too busy thraping the nuts off it to care. Variable Vanos what? Listen to my flat 4 mo fo!

I'd also get one with the biggest rear wing and exhaust I could find and drive around constantly with 4 mates in the car, smoking funny smelling cigarettes  listening to music so loud that my eardrums perforated months ago!

In for a penny...

got flat 4 you know the score..

Indeed they are chavtastic with lexus lights, but scoobies can be very nice looking in some of the more obscure colours such as custard yellow. The engine suffers from 300zx syndrome by all accounts, in that it's very difficult to work on whilst in the bay. The sound never grows tiresome though, and they are quite nippy. Boy down from me has a 500bhp one and it's certainly swift.

In fairness, any car with 500hp will be quick!

But I concurr - Scoobys are a thing of beauty in the right hands. I still can't think of a car that has the presence and visual drama of a 22B, yet is from a family derived mainstream saloon (although its a coupe..)

Scoobys rock! Sod the image problem..

Just would like to point out it's amazing that Zed's havent suffered the chav image problem.. they have been completely neglected, and are not quite aged looking so unlikely to become popular with the likes of ST's/focuses pushing out similar power these days. But they are still 300 bhp, reasonable insurance and prob fastest car 1k can buy.

Obviously you didn't go to the Zedworld Bash :whistling:

got to be scooby all the way, we recently sold ours we had a wrx sti and it was the nuts and yes you really cant help putting your foot down but never told the hubby that lol i always told him i drove it like a granny lmfao sucker!!!!!!!!!

The 328i. Although whats your budget? E46 is quite cheap now and a much newer generation car. E39 also good value and better than them both, but has a differnet image/status.

The e36 is getting on a bit now, lots of rough examples out there but even so its 1000x better to drive than the Impreza - which feels and looks cheap and nasty - horrible thin plastics and rattles. urgh.

If you go for a 328i (Great cars I had one a few years ago before the zed) go for a 98 onwards to avoid the nikasil block problem.
