Is it a pig of a job to remove the headlights? I'm looking to add 99 spec inserts to mine if it's not too much hassle :confused1:

I have a spare set of headlights I can add the inserts to beforehand so it'll then be a straight swap.

Also how easy/hard is it to seperate the actual headlight assembly to add the inserts? Thanks for any advice/info/links/experiences.

Daffy.

not really that hard did mine in half an hour, easier with front bumper off, Ill give you a hand if you want!!

Cheers Craig

Don't know if it's possible with the bumper on but when it's off it's piss easy.

The headlight glass can be seperated by removing the clips and heating the sealing compound whilst gently prying it open. All in all easy just time consuming.

it can be done with the bumper in place but its a pita so easier to take it off

if you want fella spray the inserts then drop them off with me and ill split the lights and fit them for you if you like.

I'll tell you what - if you're going to be doing headlights I wouldn't mind coming down to join you!! lol...I've been wanting to clean mine and spray the insides black for aaages but not had the time/knowhow to remove them!

happy to help with that fella, its really easy just a little time consuming

easy if you have a after market air filter, as most of the crap that gets in the way of the rear inner nuts is pretty much out of the way, if you still have the original air filter housing and the OEM recirculation valves, it can be a bit of a pig. but is doable, but as people have said, just remove the front bumper to make life easier for your self

yep, and I also cut gits in the end of the upside down bolts so that in future I can remove them (hopefully) without removing the bumper...

Problem with mine is the bumper itself! lol...I've never taken one off before and mine's aftermarket to boot. Tried following the instructions once but didn't get very far

ZX-TT...I may take you up on that offer sometime! Not yet though...too much other stuff going on! Unless of course you guys decide to do it soon as a bunch! lol

Thanks a bunch guys. Information overload!! Got to say i'm liking the idea of doing them in situ Daz, but as said on the other thread i'm worried about the two locating screws that hold the insert.

Craig, thanks for the offer mate, I might well take you up on it but i'm trying to do as much as I can myself. Job satisfaction and all that. I'll let you know when i cock up the spares I have and you can do the others. LOL!!

As an aside, what colours would you guys do the inserts? I'm thinking silver :helpsmilie:

I've still got the silver chrome paint I used on mine if it's any good to you, give us a shout if you need a hand

Thinking the same grey as the bumper bar/roof bars might tie it all in together like you say. Especially with my current wheels, really liked the look of Jeffs though. Decisions.....
