Temp needle

It`s going up and down like a whore`s draws,

is this the temp gauge sensor?

or thermostat problem?

Hi Ian,

 

There's a good chance that the connector is making intermittent contact with the sensor as you're driving along. Pop the bonnet, locate the engine temp sensor (yellow connector on the coolant outlet), next to it is a black connector - this is the one that activates the guage on your dash. Remove it, check for corrosion and push it back on so that it is seated properly - it shouldn't be able to wiggle about. That should hopefully sort your problem - I had the same, whenever I accellerated the temp needle would go down drastically and then crawl back up.
