Anyone else find them good for some Zed items and then WAY OVERPRICED on others, gets to me as i'm sure some will pay it thinking goods cannot be sourced through another method abar e-bay, i do hover on there and have a few future watched items i want to get Zed wise but all in all i dont really rate it for Zed parts and nearly always find our own traders to be better and cheaper!!!

one example>

The ebay one is above all the rest thats for sure but i even think the ones you posted are on the steep side, im sure i seen them much cheaper but cant remember the site but compared to the apexi's current price i think its a bit on the high side?!

I know what your saying there though im also watching two apexi's on ebay at the min

one standard fit, one z32 direct fit £45.00 price difference though!! and i dont mean that the universal one is cheaper lol!! certainly does pay to shop around!! mind you i learned that when i got a (mig aga cf card) for £10.00 and someone else was selling the same one for £120.00! :turned:

As a used parts trader here and a full time business in zed used parts I am amazed that often the prices on e-bay are dearer than ours and we have to warranty our parts, in fact sometimes even members here post parts dearer than us which dumbfounds me sometimes, a bit of competition is always good but ebay has caused many companies to either join in or fail...saying that when I want something for my BMW you know where I look first!!

some people live in cuckoo land i mean the manufacturer K & N i relate to Fords and Vauxhalls not Jap cars however there is alot on ebay that is utter crap like the performance chips that keep coming up on there

Agree 100% mate although i do use it, it tends to be for nick nack's zed wise over anything performance wise, i's rather go to someone who knows a little on the car for that type of stuff :D

Yep same here lol but even in bench tests the apexi performs better on the Z32 and is a total dry filter? id go for the apexi for quality and price anyday!!

when i was calling around about BOV`s a guy did say to me what about Bailey BOVs i had to laugh in all the adverts id seen for bailey it was always Ford cars not Jap machines so for that reason wouldnt even want to have their parts on my car :)

Very true - but K&N is still a quality manufacturer; especially when compared to all the usual aftermarket kit for Fords, Saxos and the like. I recently bought the K&N replacement element for the Rav-4 and it's a well made piece of kit!

We know the Apex-i is best for our cars but I bet the K&N is not far behind on performance and filtration ability. I remember a similar test on a Mk3 Supra back in the days I had one - and the K&N came out top!

But for the money that Z32 kit comes in at, it's just not worth it:no:

As eBay has come to dominate the market then prices have risen, which is understandable. Now there are few bargains, so it's just come to be a place where you can buy stuff quickly, easily and conveniently. I usually check eBay to find out the sort of price you should be paying for something and then look elsewhere to buy it. Sometimes companies have cheaper prices on the own website rather than through eBay - obviously they don't pay the eBay fees then. What does annoy me going to each new site that you have to create an account, password, enter card details etc etc etc., that's why eBay is convenient, couple of clicks and it's done.

its not just you matey, i do it too, ive also found on a number of occasions that amazon is cheaper than Ebay, and a fair few other places as well. Plus if you have a iphone it does one touch purchase, which is seriously lazy stuff lol

I must admit i dont really use amazon, do they have car stuff on there or are we thinking dvd's and stuff?

  • 3 weeks later...

I bought a tailgate from him!

As the advert said all parts are excellent etc, i didn't ask i just bought it.

When it came, the back was rotten, and as it was very well protected (wrapped in a bin liner!!!), it was dented too.

It was when we had the snow so took weeks to get it picked up..

I can believe it matey, i have my battered spoiler in the garden thats a bit water logged and has been left near some mud may offer him it ;)
