Well after having the car for 6-7 weeks I've finally started work, doesn't help the new place doesn't have a garage!

Managed to fit in some part collections with work meetings :thumbup1: so picked up a front bumper from Oxford, rear bumper from Leicester, next week side skirts from Preston and seats from Windsor! Also have spacers and longer wheel studs for rear wheels and 25mm drop lowering springs ready.

But the boring stuff first, the turbo water feed at the back of the engine is leaking so started taking the plenum off to get at it. Two hours later and it's still on  forgot how much of a pain in the arse it was, still a bypass and egr delete while it's off. Will post up some pics tomorrow, only planning cosmetic work for the next few months so I can enjoy the summer in it. Then winter for the power and manual conversion :devil2:

Nice one mate, i look forward to seeing what you do with this one. And I'm pleased that my front bumper has gone to a good home, much better than being locked in that dodgy outdoor storage.

Finally got the plenum off and got the hose delivered ready for the bypass. Also changed the springs on my spare front shocks to the Eibach set I have ready for swap the ones on the car. Got a day planned tomorrow, weather permiting want to get the bypass done and maybe start the suspension. I also now have my bumpers and side skirt here ready for painting. May swap them to to see if it all works together.

Really am looking forward to another fantastic project.

Is it maybe an idea to make use of the Journal section so you dont end up with pages upon pages of "looks awesome" and "great work" replies?

Well after some 1/2 decent weather and a my birthday bash to prepare for I managed some time on the car this weekend. Finally got the turbo water feed pipe at the back that was leaking off and a bypass plumbed in. Plenum now back in positon but everything needs connecting now

Also put the new skirts in position to see how they looked along with the front and rear bumper. Only problem the from bumper was glued on with black bitumen type stuff which took forever to cut through! :cursing:

Going to put more pics in my journal but the latest updates.

Got all the plenum pipes back on and everything connected but the car wouldn't start, tried for ages  Checked power to coils etc and eventually found a faulty cas plug, bit of adjustment and straight into life all be it a little rough. No water leak and all seemed ok, next day started it again and white smoke started billowing from the engine bay! On investigation a coil pack was melting, a quick call to Geoff confirmed my findings, a friend when soldering on new coil pack plugs did one of them the wrong way round, luckily I had a spare and ZX-TT sent me another to sort it.

As a last minute idea decided to send it off for MOT as all the shocks have also been done and lowered 25mm. Results here http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=148939 but I do now have a MOT

This week the flocked boot panels arrived, sourced a manual conversion (ready for winter), picked up front leather seats and rears last week. Today I have started to strip the interior out to change for leather and flocking of the front panels.

Interior went from this

to this

attachment.php?attachmentid=59316&stc=1&d=1302898208

Then stripped the boot

To find this

A bit of a disaster :cursing: but at least I have found it early while there is plenty of metal to weld a new plate to.

I was going to say didn't you get the FRONT bumper from Leicester - then remembered that was for your first project!! This one's going to be awesome mate - but looks like what TurboZ's used to look like before he got it all sprayed the same colour! :D

Managed to spend the day on the car as the wife was watching the Royal wedding!!

I welded the boot section that had rotted and covered it in underseal, that sprayed it black as the car will be resprayed black. Ellodave came over and welded the side section while I got Conzult on his, all good except his tps was out. While it was out I got it on mine and found the tps was out even further than his!!!

Fitted the new leather back seats from Vods to replace those nice tweed ones  got fronts to match from Mr Isherwood to.

Next I refitted all the boot panels as the are back from being flocked by Ady and very happy I am with them to. The fronts are stripped out and ready to go off to him next week.

Thoughts on these

Nice one Anthony, more pics of the flocking please.

I still have these panels wrapped ready to go, are you sorted now or do you still want them?

Todays progress. I think the plan is to scrap the respray until after Japfest but still want to go so set about transforming the red rear bumper to grey. As usual Halfords do offer the colour I need so found something reasonably close or so I thought. Why does the colour sticker on the tin never look like what comes out!!

Still its a better match than the red!! Just the front one to do now :tongue_smilie:
