autobox oil change

Just asked my local garage price for an autobox oil change

It will be approximately £65.00 plus vat however, some of the 300zx auto transmissions did not have a drain plug and requires a special tool of which we do not have. We can look at your vehicle and let you know if it would be possible.

Do you need a special tool if so would my car need 1. If so where would i get 1.cheers

1994 j spec tt. Thanks john

Hi mate, you should have a sump plug on the bottom of the sump, i think that it was only the very early ones which didn't. Even if you didn't you wouldn't need a special tool, just a 10mm socket as you would have to remove the whole sump, but would get very mesy under there!

I think that you can also get a syphon type pipe that you can feed down the dipstick tube to drain, that might be what they were talking about?

Shouldn't be a problem though as i think you will find that you have a drain plug... have a little look mate, it should be on the passenger wheel side of the sump, bout a 17 or 19mm if i recall.

Here you go mate, you could do it yourself to be honest, check out this guide:
