Braking and overheating

Hey all

i know this is a common problem on the Z but has anyone figured a way or know of a way to stop the brakes overheating so much without spending the £1000000000 pounds on the bigger discs and calipers?

mine has got uprated black diamond discs and uprated pads. i have changed the brake fluid and i think its got dot 5.1 running throught the brake lines. any other suggestions?

the only way i thought was maybe to change the front nose cone for one that allows more air through.

So long as your calipers are in good condtion(i.e. no sticking pistons etc) you have a few things you can do:

1: Fit a brake cooling duct kit, I think you can use standard Nissan parts as I belive this was standard fitment after 95. Or get a kit from places like SE-Nissan I think its about £170 from SE.

2: Change the brake pipes to steel braided ones to get rid of the expansion of the old rubber ones. You can also fit a master cylinder brace(This only inproves "feel" not performance).

3: Get Cryo or Heat treated discs from places like Porterfield in the states and run them with there carbon pads. I think Henri Le Hir runs cryo treated and Jez here in the UK runs the heat treated discs.
