Got a major window problem please help!!

The electric windows seem to be a rather sore point on my zed - the previous owner had issues for ages with them.

I was told that an auto electrician checked the amp and that was ok, but the drivers switch itself was shorting so it kept blowing amps. I changed the drivers switch and still no joy, but today when I was at shell, the mrs opened the window to speak to me... so the passenger window went down, but now wont go up!! I've tried the passenger switch off my breaker but still no joy.

At the mo the passenger window is wide open and the weather is looking sh!t!!!

any ideas?!?! HEEEEEELLLLLPPPPPP :pinch:

Get the door card off mate and apply twelve volts direct to motor. That will put it up for you.

I had this on the bema the other day and it was the window clip that had gone on mine.

Can you here the motor??

Baz,

Can't see how a switch could blow an amp, it's only two small relays.

If the amp has been changed, and the switch as well, I'd be looking at the motor......BUT.....

If you passenger window is sticking down, then I'd say your amp is knacked!!! Probably a dodgy solder joint on the PCB, and more than likely where the plug coupler attaches to the PCB. It wont take much of a dry joint to cause these problems

thanks Dave,

I'll have to diagnose all the bits from start to finish I think, otherwise I'll just swap bits from my breaker until it starts working. The amp from my white one was definately working but on the black one it still doesnt want to know. :(

brilliant! no wouldnt even have thought have looking there! thanks matey :)

not that I'm saying that its the solution.... but...

I had a similar problem on my old supra, the passengers widow would go down but not back up.. turned out to be the driver's side passenger window control switch.

have you swapped the window relay in the drivers door panel ( controls one touch function as well)
