speed cameras to be turned off

i saw a story on central news tonight reporting the regions 304 speed cameras were to be turned off as the local authorities couldnt afford the costs of running them . the date given for the turn off , APRIL 1st .

I might be being a bit suspitious here but i can just imagine a load of £60 fines landing on doorsteps a week later with bloody april fool stamped on top of the fine .

haha bloody speed cameras, got caught by one once, n when i wrote a formal reply to them saying that i wasnt speeding they dropped it :clown:

if they are really gna be switched off then thats good news, they are not the right method for preventing road accidents.

Speed doesn't kill!!! It's the person behind the wheel that kills due to not being able to handle the speed. Speed used correctly in the right places and in the right situations will never kill anybody. From the 30% of accidents that kill involving speed, how many of these are caused by the idiots that go out and rob the cars, probably too young to drive in the first place, never having passed a driving test. I really hope the cameras are being switched off........Rant over, sorry.......lmao
