Hey guys,

First of all, Ive not been on here in quite a long time due to one reason or another but its great to see the site is still as alive and kicking as ever! :clown:

One of the reasons Ive not been on here is because my zed has been dead... The first issue was the turbos and then when i replaced them, the engine just gave up. If i remember correctly something was wrong with the #6 piston having a tantrum and the valves not seating well in #1 cylinder. :helpsmilie:

Ive been saving my pennies for a while now while Ive been planning the best course of action. (Heres where I need some advice from you guys). What I plan to do is buy another engine to put in my zed to get her back on the road (I miss her so much! :crying: lol!) With my original engine out and with time to work on it i plan to strip it down and build it back up with a few trick mods added along the way!

Question time:

1. Anyone know of any good TT engines that might be being sold in the next couple of months? If so, price?

2. Any advice on potential stumbling points i might hit along the way would be welcomed?

3. Has anyone had this kind of engine problem before? (the zed chucks out alot of white smoke with a hint of blue) Ive seen the symptoms discussed everywhere but I dont think Ive seen it for these problems?

4. What good parts and mods should I get/do to the engine while i have easy access to everything (bypass mods/upgrade parts like injectors, pistons, stroker kit...possibly :shifty: ?/painting suggestions etc).

All ideas and advice welcome.

Ive got alot of things to sort out and its gonna take time, thing is i dunno where to start lol! (Apart from buying a new engine or a really big bin )

Cheers

ZX - TT has/had an TT engine that was running for sale for £200.

I'd speak to him and see if its still available. There were a few issues with it, but nothing that couldn't be sorted during a rebuild. I'd speak with Jimmer or Jeff TT regarding an engine rebuild - they seem to be the best at that sort of thing..

Reckon you could probably get an engine back in your car for about £1500 (without having too many mods).

Best of luck pal.

He's looking for a perfectly decent running engine now, swap over and then slowly build up the one he takes out.

In answer toy our q's mate, scour around and you should find a running engine for a few hundred, hopefully!

In rebuilding your own, all the usual by passes, cleran out all the water and oil gallies in the block, new bearings, oil pump, slight rehone to fit forged pistons/rings and new gaskets.

That should give you a healthy strong engine, if you have any cash left yeah new injectors 555's if not no biggie when engine in.
