If your opening a Zed engine and fitting various new parts like you've listed in the other thread, not fiting new pistons would be insane imo mate. The cost is around 400 quid with rings and will safegaurd your engine for many years to come and will also allow you or any new owner the chance to up the power safely.

Your pistons are around 20 years old and are the only part of the block that are not forged, add to that if you or anyone else has or does increase boost then small amounts of Det will see one of them off and it's usually No.6 on pre 94 models.

In short, deffo stick new pistons in now while cost is minimal.

Yes you right but rebuild kit with all pistons, piston rings and other bits will cost £1000 on z1motorsport.com. I can believe that I can find full complete rebuild kit with pistons and rings for 400 quid. Is it possible ?

No the pistons and rings is about 400 quid mate.

It really is sensless you opening a block and fitting new parts but not the weakest one of the lot!

The cost and waste of labour should 1 go later on is quite frankly, nuts...

You need pistons, bearings and oil pump and various gaskets. Flush out the water and oil gallies, hone the bores, fit new parts and re fit heads, job done.

I know I wish to do full rebuild. but is a lot money, I need to rebuild because my oil pump is not working and it was no oil pressure in the engine so I am thinking I need rebuild yo put new bearings and gasket and oil pump, my engine got 65k mile age so I hope so my pistons still in good condition. What about if I put new gaskets, oil pump, all bearings and new piston rings? is that not will be good enough ?

i know its hard to find that kind of money mate but these are not a 1950's a series.

if you have lost oil pressure for any amount of time then a lot of the engine will be scrap.

if you want to do it on the cheap your best option would be to buy a tested engine from zedworld. i cant help but feel that if you put all these new bit on you current engine as is you will just be disappointed.

well it's good point mate. First of all next week I will start to work on the engine will try to find what is really wrong and than if is that bad I will start look for a new engine.

Is any different on engines between model year? Or they all the same?

have you used an aftermarket oil pressure gauge to check as the ones in the car are un reliable at best

no it is stock gauge, oil pressure sometimes was 0 or just lower that normal and engine was shaking.

i would be surprised if the oil pump actually failed, they are driven directly off the crank.

the oil pressure sender wears internally in the usual operating zone and ends up showing zero, the shaking is more likely to be an injector/coil pack type problem.

Imho a pump in most cases is a waste of money, they are virtually bomb proof.A good rebuild with the journals polished on the crank and a set of shells and the oil pressure will be off the richter scale mate.

Yeah mate I also believe that oil pump is failed, but engine shaking started than oil pressure started messing around. I think that shaking was because oil wasn't moving freely in the engine. I don't know what I should start first. Should I start to turn the engine on some how because is dont wanna start or should I take the engine out and in to pieces to check whats wrong in there???

( after the last time I try to turn the engine on, Engine started immediately but after half minute just shut off and I dont want to start engine again until I found the problem, because I can make worse.
