I borrowed my mates xbox whilst mine was off being repaired, but I removed his hard drive and put mine on, thinking that it wouldnt make any difference to the game saves, and it didnt. Just carried on as though it was my xbox.

However now I have mine back and have put my hard drive back onto my console, my profile is missing! along with the saves.

I know I can recover my gamertag, but will I have lost what I did whilst I was using his xbox? Does anyone know why it may be missing? I thought the info was just saved on the hard drive. :sneaky2:

i think your sposed to back up save games b4 u send it for repair as the repair process wipes them.

i had a similar problem when using transfer kit to swap all my old xbox saves to a new slim console, most of it worked fine appart from forza 3. lost everything, months of work, millions of credits and back to square 1

Thats weird as afaik everything you save is on the hard drive and as that wasnt sent back it wasnt wiped,,i have a lot of my game saves also saved on a memory stick with my gamertag.
