Hi Guys, I`ve just realised i need to spend another £43 on a lead to convert my head unit to rca out, so my question is... is it possible to connect to an aftermarket amp direct from speaker outputs from the head unit or can i only go from rca out?? I`m not skimping but this lead is from the US so I will have to wait and pay import duty also, so if i only loose a little quality im not too bothered or is it a big no,no?

Aggreed, most/some amps have a high level input. not sure of any other ways of doing this though, i think id probly look at getting a new headunit, they can be dead cheap now :-)

Looks like you may have the RCA lead missing. If so it'd be best to buy a replacement rather than the halfords option above. If you're going to the trouble of installing amps etc it may as well be done correctly. Unless as mentioned above the amp has high level inputs which are designed to be connected to speaker connections. Formby Car Elec may be able to source the Pioneer cable if needed.

sorry lads I had to go out!!

Yes, I need a rca lead and want the proper one for the head unit which does have 3 rca`s out! not too sure on the amp as it hasnt arrived yet, but will check, I didnt know about high level inputs, but do now, I know Mike at formby electrical Phil, so will give him a bell.

CheerZ again for the input

Hi Daz 3 RCA'S?

On my DVD has 2xRCA one white, one red for left and right to the amp. Is one for the SUB?

Could you send us a pic off back of unit!

Make sure you put a suppressor inline with the 12v to the amp, due to feed back off the alternator.

If you can make sure you earth the RCA wiring to stop noise.

Give us a ring if you need any help Daz
