Well respect matey for having a go!!

you a little bit too far from me but as you have done so much mail me and I can give you a step by step by phone if you want of what`s left. Jeff TT

i used a place by mine (wigan) for my major service and a replacement set of rear pads and paid in total £198.00/so i think they might be worth approaching cos it's rather local 30 mins away just off m6!(recon services)i will get the number 01942 711605.

give them a try and see how you get on m8

hope the info helps and saves you doing the hard work your self cos he does a good job and he dosent cost the earth

Where exactly are you ?

I am based in south Dorset in Dorchester. If you need help or get stuck drop me a mail and I'll give you my number and can help talk you through it.

Jeff TT does a fantastic guide for timing belt changes I think, it is available at WWW.twinturbo.net in their tech section

read this and it is easy.

Best of luck

I'm near Preston so not too far if you still need a hand. Let me know. I'm actually doing mine at the moment and have it down to the same stage.... Just waiting for the parts now :S

Thanks for all of you help and information guys but I have hit a major problem and need to find a recommended garage near to me to complete the service... you see I have sheared off one of the bolt heads on the water inlet pipes Doh!!!!!!!

Doh! this need not be a problem if you drill out the bolt head enough so a stud extractor tool can be used, this is not too hard and will ultimately be cheaper than a garage.

Dude how'd you manage that!

Mind you.. I can't talk.. lost count of the number of bolts I sheared on the Renault!

Number one weapon: PlusGas dismantling oil.

*Faaaaaantastic* stuff

Also using a longer bar can help since the torque is applied more evenly as you try and undo the bolt..

But in your case, Jeff's suggestion is the only route open..

It's not hard, just be careful to keep the drill straight and central..

After all - thats all that a garage will do! (Actually most would just... [edited because I'm probably not allowed to say what I did!])
