That MR2 should be given away, deffo not worth that, if it was a super charger then maybe. The 850 is nice, always fancied one of those, but it's a horrible repair job.

the mr2 is unrecorded aswell, so means resale value will be higher if repair os good

the 840 will be a sod to repair and will prob cost the price of the car to fix as im sure the panels will be a fortune

Only the BMW is

Rubbish. Pick up Mark1 MR2's NOT written off with MOT and tax in good nick for £1000

And the 850 would be a cow son of a job to fix! Both way over priced

It's shocking what's written off these days.

My Merc E-class has just been written off despite having only a damaged wing and front bumper. The car is in excellent condition and drives like a dream, yet the insurance company managed to get a quote of £3.5k for the work!

(I reckon it should be no more than £1k max assuming astronomical labour rates).

Now about to start the negotiation of the settlement, which will doubtless be painful.

I know just got a pug 206 s 5 door and semi-auto on a 54 plate with 36k only needed a new wing and was a cat D. cost me £125 to get back on the road.

The SLK I just bought needs a bonnet and two air bags, £2000 for car, then about £850 to repair. Perfect for a quiet life from the wife, hoping its worth £4k or more.

Ive had a 850 and there great, but i'd say around £1800 for a good repair, only buy it if its a boyhood dream. The mk1 MR2's I think are a bit marmite, and cheap at half the price, okay for a track toy and leave it as it is.

You could always buy the BM for the engine and box for the zed and sell the rest for parts, should get your money back and have a V8 for the zed :thumbup1:

Jesus man, that rx7 and mr2 are stupidly overpriced, you could pick up a better mr2 for 300 bucks with mot and tax. RX7 about 5-600 in good nick. Forget ebay sales unless it's a cheap buy it now, it's not the best indicator of value. The BMW is a lovely car, but you could be well well well into the thousands to repair.

just scanned through that website, the prices are what id expect of cars with no damage and even then id say they are high priced, check auto traderr along side

Yep as above, all stupidly over priced.

The MK1 MR2's rust like the titanic too, have seen a few completely

rotted through under the sill covers/spats, must be a water trap i

guess? For that price you'd get a MK2 MR2, definately a rev1, maybe

even a rev2.

I'd steer clear of the beemer, will be a horrendous money pit, plus the

cost of driving it will be awful.

IMO the only repairable cars worth buying are newer models, with plenty of scope for a profit and desirability factor, unless you want it for yourself, but there are plenty of cheap cars out there for the money.
