currently have a twin turbo Z that i love dearly, but im seeking some advice on how to get a quiet exhaust or which one is the best.

 

currently have japspeed decat downpipe that run into a silencer box, then into a backbox each side with 5 inch exits. ( yes i know they're huge)

 

i do have silencer bungs, which take 80% of the noise away, but with them in i cannot run high boost for safety reasons. (backpressure etc)

 

now i'd like a system that can deliver all the power i need but without the noise, do any of you have one like this?

 

Hoping to change the backboxes only rather than the full system....

Mongoose is much quieter, from the cat back, available in single or double exit, i replaced my Japseed cat back with it and it makes a big difference in noise levels inside the car and out.

So is the mongoose syetem not that loud on your N/a then mate?

No its much nicer, great tone, quieter inside, still has the nice V6 burble when pootling along and still sings when you floor it.

After trying decats, then decats with silencer, japspeed catback with x pipe, ive found the mongoose to be a great system.

the thing is, im not looking for 'not that loud' as that still means its loud, i want something quiet, so that it doesnt sound like a racecar, and sounds more like a normal car. basically simiar level to the stock system which is very quiet.

you would need to go back to cats i would have thought, to get it down to that level or add a few more silencers inline.

The cats act as a silencer, that in conjuction with the OEM rear boxes, most tend to want the opposite lol

:tongue_smilie: Agreed my fiesta can be the quiet one lol ...and the zed heard before seen but thats just what is best for me, its each to there own and what suiits what situation, i'd say as graham say's cats back on and original boxe's sounds the way to go!

hi ive got a single exit hks super drager system, with decats, its a 3inch system with 6 inch tailpipe. its got the silencers on which doesnt make it loud. its a qaulity sound that it produces. and its not as loud as my twin exit mongoose system i had,
