Unfortunately the girlfriend hit black ice tonight and put her 207 into the ditch causing a fair amount of damage but she was fine thankfully.

Now when it goes in to get fixed there should be a courtesy car coming out what's the chances of it being something decent I can give a good thrashing? Haha.

Anyone ever had a half decent courtesy car?

Never had a decent courtest car (micra, renault modus, ewwww, corsa) or a decent hire car, mondeo or vectra, bleck!

My mate went to Vegas for a lads holiday, years back now, 2 of them hired a ferrari 360,and being dick heads they blew the engine and popped 2 tyres!!! they absolutley shat themselves, but had no option to call the rental place to tell them what happened, only to find them sooo apologetic and gave them another better courtesy ferrari for the rest of the day (cant remeber which model) but newer and faster.

My old zed's insurance included a like for like courtesy car in the event my car was off the road. When I asked for a one expecting a 350z or similiar they offered me a ford Ka!!

Told the bloke I'd rather feckin walk! And how does that compare to a 300BHP GT car? Never got an answer.

When my zed was taken off the road by anoyher driver I refused their replacement car, which was a 1.8 astra. I went through Help Hire via my legal team and got a ford focus st as a replacement.

This was my sig for 12weeks

I've got a LandRover Freelander 2 that went in for a repair to the diff (amongst other things) under warranty on Dec 14th. Got given a Hyundai i30!!!!!!, never mind thought I it was only for two days, but it wasn't. Then we got the snow - the one time you actually need a 4x4 and i've got a loan Hyundai:angry:. After lots of moaning to them I managed to change to a courtesy Freelander 2 on xmas eve - and i've still got it. Who knows when i might see my car again - bloody main dealers!

Would you believe - and i'm finding it difficult myself - they need a tool thats not in the country. Now apparently it arrived yesterday, but alas theres two parts to it and only ones arrived - you couldn't make it up. Since the dealer is in Liverpool, where Land Rovers are made I politely suggested they get one from the factory - too be told they just bolt the assembled bits together.

I'm starting to think they've crashed it or something and are keeping quiet :glare:

Courtesy car rant over......

After the same problem 2x with my new 911 i moaned so much they gave me a Maserati 3200gt demo.the first time they gave me a merc estate lol

When my Scorpio Cossie got written off in a no blame accident I got a brand new Jag 2.2 diesel sport.... When the Zed was hit by silly woman in another no blane I got a brand new Freelander 2....

Good luck to you, the other half had a slight crash before christmas in her 207. She was given a 9 year old 1.2 punto with a stereo that wouldnt work.

If the accident is not your fault then you will get like for like; your insurer will claim the cost off the other party.

When some knob rear-ended my SLK back in 2008 I got a brand new Merc E320cdi - it cost the 3rd party's insurer over £12,000 (yup twelve grand) in hire charges!!

but if you're claiming off your own insurance they are under no obligation to give you a similar car - you just have to take pot luck with what ever the repairing garage offers you.

The Pug gets picked up today but I don't think it will be anything decent as it's going to Arnold Clark :( If only it was some of the cars a few of you have had! lol.

Not even as if I have the Zed on the road to keep me amused I'm in Celica until it's back :/

Just went and pickedu p the courtesy car .... 59 plate 1.2 Fester! Better than the Ka I thought she would have got lol.

That's better than what Julia got last year when some arsewipe hit her Rav-4 in a pub car park and drove off. We used Admiral's recommended reparier (who did a great job on our car BTW) but the garage supplied a Chevrolet (Daewoo) thing. I don't know what engine it had, but I had awful trouble trying to get 100mph (NOT on the public road, I hasten to add) out of it - bloody thing would not accelerate past 95.......

Funny you should say that the Fiesta hardly managed the 90 mark lol. New cars these days just ain't focused towards performance at all, its all economy! Glad I've got my paws on a real car before we are forced into these!!
