Hi All,

Righty! I picked up a new diff off Gonzo's breaker and am half way through getting the knackered diff off my car!!

Question is - is there anything I should do to the new diff that is going on whilst it is off the car?

Thanks,

Tom!

Change the oil and if you have an import then you could consider fitting the cooler off the European model.

Mine is a UK model. I will defo change the oil... looks a PITA to do it on the motor! Thanks Andy

I took a wire brush on a grinder to mine and removed all the rust, then I painted it with hammerite. Not really necessary but it didn't have improve the looks of the thing. Also make sure the ABS sensors and cogs are clean. The sensors are magnetic and pick up fragments easily.

You may as well change the oil, it's really easy to do. I wouldn't bother with the uk cooler as it's a complete waste of time and not needed. Plus you would need the cooler, piping and oil pump and you would have to drill and tap threads in the diff for the cooler pipes to connect to.

Thanks for the feedback guys - will paint it too.

Out of interest is it possible to buy new diff cases?

I fancy a new case with quaife diff when I've got a fair bit of cash saved up!
