i ken bawjaws is cuttnin everyfin bar his 130quid an hour personal trainer...but surly theres jobs in the forces...if not what hope is there for anybody

one of my greatest regrets ever and i truly feel downhearted about it was not going in the forces when i said i would, i wimped out when it came to signing and got offered the job i am in now

if its what you want to do then go for it, i really do regret it and kick myself everytime i see them on the tv

I went in at 18. (in the U.S.) Newark New Jersey for Basic training...

The most accurate movie I saw was Full Metal Jacket. Was a mind-blowing 8 weeks.. straight out of reality and into some messed up Kubrick vs. Cronenberg movie. took me a few weeks of being back home before I stopped constantly watching my back.

Having said that... it was one of the greatest experiences of my life!!! :)

miss it. Don't do it unless you get the Military Job you want. Full Stop.

Once you get past Basic Training + advance training... you are in the Fraternity and things get pretty damned relaxed. It's a great way of life / extremely good for you, in general. From what I remember - The guys who struggled the most, were the older ones as the physical demands + tons of sleep deprivation favoured us young lads.

I say "go For it!" 100% or you will always regret not doing it. But.. keep your options open. i.e. don't sign up for longer for a bigger signing bonus.... just in case.
