speed sensor

went for a drive today,speedo stopped ,power streering went hard & hicas light came on.got home,turned off ignition,started car again & hicas light went out & power steering came back but didn't think to try speedo.i assume this is speed sensor related?:surrender:

could be your kph to mph converter (if it's an import, and if it has one fitted) or could be dry solder joints on the back of the speedo cluster. Also, have you checked your fluid level? Power steering fluid is also used for the hicas, hence the light... A good search on these will give you more idea matey...

i know this sounds dumb,but what do you mean by dry solder or joint?:surrender:

It's basically the solder on the joint has gone a little crusty over time, and can break away from the pin of the component, causing a dicky connection, it's cured by just going over them all with a soldering iron and some solder... Have you tried banging the top of your clock cluster to see if it jumps into life whilst driving? It's worth giving the joints a going over anyways, any you can get to really...
