been trying to set up my wireless connection but it tells me my WPA code is wrong!!

 

i thought this was the code on my router which is the network key?

 

is there anybody on here knows what i am doing wrong?? please help:sad::sad:

wpa is a security protocol if its asking for a key then it should be a password that you set when installing your router?

i have sky and when i set up laptop on wireless i entered the ssid on the router and then just the network key

cant see why it would work for a laptop but not the ps3 it surely just needs your network key to gain entry to the router

 

i'll be honest im going by computer knowledge only as dont use my ps3 on line, doubt it would be anything to do with one using wpa and the the other a higher encryption?

Having a stupid moment but are WPA codes case sensitive? If thats the case then make sure you enter it correctly into the ps3.

unsure on that!! ...but mine is mostly numbers so not apllicable lol

IIRC there is a choice of which type of code to put in, choose the last on W??? a four figure one and put your router key in that one.

might your router be set up to use WEP or WPA2 instead of WPA? might be worth checking the settings on that. WPA2 is the most secure of the three.

or if your router is near your ps3 you could jusyt use an eathernet cable to connect them iv just done mine found it alot better than when it was wireless
