My dad has asked me to try and find a storage tank of some description.

 

I'm a little stuck as to finding something suitable so I wondered if anyone has any ideas?

 

Basically we want something to be horizontally mounted, cylindrical with rounded ends preferable but that isnt the end of the world.

 

Dimensions of aproximatly 900mm long by 500mm wide is what we are looking for. Its not got to hold any pressure just water/weedkiller solution.

 

I have tried looking for compressor tanks, lpg tanks and water tanks but cant seem to find much suitable!

sound exactly the same size as barrels they use for transporting special fuel. (get to a race meet and ask teams for a nose thru their rubbish), but yeah, we use lots of similar plastic/metal barrels to contain neat coolant and oils for machinery.

A farmer would have loads of these discarded, clogging up out-houses and derelict barns, which you can help yourself to if he's not around. :-)

Ah yeah not a bad plan, Its actually to be made into a railway tanker so needs to look right as it were.

get yourself to the local scrapyard Chris and buy a copper water storage tank that someone has scrapped...ideal and roughly the size your after with the bonus that you can plumb it with household pipe and fittings and it can be polished for the railway...

Aye well thats a point, have to have a look at the scrap yards..

well once the insulation is taken off you have "el perfecto" or get a scrap one with no insulation
