work for a little engineering company.

machinist, r&d etc etc, pretty much anything. but benefits are all bank holidays off and a good holiday over xmas :)

Sounds good to me it's the opposite for me as its our busiest time of year, got a phone call christmas day but could not get there, i work for an out of hours service nhs and private so busy busy :/ but at least i can have internet :)

thanks mate i do enjoy it despite its stress, tonight and tomorrow eve on shift then thats it until next year, unless i get called in

i hate my job, the only real benefit is i can make stuff i need for my car etc. money wise its pants!

yep thats a perk for sure! i done nvq level 1&2 in motor vehicle engineering years ago but only served in a garage for a short time doing general service work, wish i'd of stayed now or gained more experience in another garage my Zed would be fixed by now i bet and in top nick lol

 

trust me to go for a complete career change its a good job i do enjoy it :turned:

it always has been Gaz...my old man talked me out of being a turner 35 years ago mate as its always fasinated me now and then...i just tit about on my myford to get the buzz now thou. my good mate is a turner and he say's the moneys shite:thumbdown:

if i stuck to my first job after leaving college i would be fabricating structural steel work, that was a great job with great money, just couldnt handle one of the f**k wits that worked there and ended up throwing my tool box at him!

 

 

what pisses me off is that my boss knows that im worth more but he cannot afford to pay me more. im at the maximum pay scale in my company. so if you look at it my way. if i stay where i am i will be earning the same now as i would in 20 years! with the same people and no career progression. no wonder im so ****ed off with my job!:taz:
