Well, what a day

Up at 6:wacko:

-10c outside

Scrape the frost off 3 cars, do some shuffling about, then pedal to the carpet. Scotland here I come. Would have travelled yesterday but I was working and didn't fancy a mega-drive on xmas eve.

So, a couple of tanks of fuel later I'm up here in Bonny Scotchland. And its warm (ish)! That said, been for a walk on a frozen loch this afternoon - so not that warm...

I was seriously in two minds about the journey. Option 1 was leave the Zed on the drive and take the missus' Clio (she's abroad over xmas). Option 2 was fire up the millenium falcon and hit the hyperdrive button, but risk causing terminal structural rot by hitting intergalactic salt crystals. As mitigation I got the bucket out and whispered sweet nothings in her ear, hoping that she would forgive me, for her salty abuse

Anyway - back on topic. Had a good run, but had 5 miles of absolute arse-clenching white-knuckle fear just south of Berwick on the A1. The road had turned to solid ice and the first thing I noticed was a strange slewing sensation (similar to warn rear shocks!) at 70mph:surrender::surrender:

After crapping my pants at 30mph for another 5 miles, I finally got into scotland - where they know how to grit a fookin road properly - and all was well again. Did my good deed and reported the ice to the highways agency..

OK - the Facts
