How do i do a heater matrix bypass, mine is squirting water and steam into the car and causing the engine to overheat. HELP ME:cursing:

at the back of the engine, almost in the middle, coming from the engine into the bulkhead of the car, you will see 2 pipes, you just need to loop the two coming from the engine, i'e' join them together so the water just circulates around the engine and not into the car. it's a bit fiddly cos there's not much room back there... HTH...

The 2 pipes at the rear of the engine, just behind the plenum, where the hoses come off and go into the bulk head. You need a length of hose to create a loop, u, shape which bypasses the matrix.

i think ive seen them theyre close together and both face the driver correct, looks like a metal pipe with a rubber hose coming off each, basically just remove the rubber hose then connect the metal pipes together with a new rubbber hose?

is that right? sorry for being dumb, but there are a few back there and want to make sure i get the correct pipes.

OOOOOHHHH NO! not the metal pipes, you want to connect the two coming for the engine, the 2 rubber hoses, NOT the 2 coming from the inside of the car! oops... !

There are only 2 water hoses that go into the bulkhead, follow them back to the engine and it will be obvious. You can leave the hoses on at the matrix end/bulkhead, just pull them off the pipes on the rear of the engine and as said, use some hose and connect one pipe to the other creating the loop. The water is only flowing around the engine once bypassed.

it's the 2 pipes i've circled in red that you need to join, that keeps the water/coolant in the engine but doesn't get to the leaky matrix....

i cant see anything back there, but the two which go into metal pipes, then one right beside then brake fluid that goes into the bulkhead. im crap at this stuff. anyone got a pic of the correct two?

those are the ones from the metal pipes that i ment before, will get on it now. appreciated.

Thats good. Although you will have no heat in the car, at least you can still drive it, till you sort the matrix.

You will find that you will still get steamy windows on start up, just use the aircon to clear it. Not the best time of year lol, hope you get it sorted soon, theres lots of info on here, as quite a few of us replaced the matrix recently.

i wont be using it much, but just dont want it to overheat any more, its done it about 9 times, in the last week or so.
