Help

I was trying to repair my driver side window as it does not pull in when closing. However this was not succesful and along with it all I have a bit left over. It fell out when I took off the inner shin. Any ideas what it is and how the f**k I can get it all back together. Just got the car back on the road and now I'm off again.

Thanks for any help guys, if anyone is in the Surrey area and will ing to help name your tipple!

Hope the pics are ok.

Tim

Have been looking again this morning and still cant work out where this bit comes from. It has know fastening holes so I cant even match it to something. Also any ideas how to fix the window. It doesnot pull in when fully closed so leaves a small gap at the top. I presume something needs tightening but have taken off the inner door panel and cant see what.

I dont want to have to go to Nelson and pay a fortune for them to do it. rolleyes.gif

Hello Tim,

I think I've found it, just looked in the manual and it looks a bit like the door stopper adjustment part. Go to the on line manual and it on the "body" and on page 10. The part it looks like is towards the front of the door.

Hope that's helped.

Vijay

Tim,

I think Vijay is right on what that part is.. I'm trying to remember where it goes from when I had my door apart not long ago..

From memory - the upper seat belt mounting bolt goes through the hole (left hand side in the first pic), and it's the upper door catch - could be part of your problem!

If the window glass does need adjusting, you'll want to adjust the in/out rake of the two window guide rails - you should be able to see four bolts with the door card off, one at each end of the two window tracks (one at the front of the glass, and one at the rear). If I recall, the top bolts in each case wind the top of the track in & out..

Winding the top of the rear one in a little may well help.

Another day off work gone. Anyway quite happy as fitted Smithy's hard pipe kit today. Makes the engine bay look nice, but the skin on my nuckles will take a while to recover.

Wracking the grey matter...could it be the lower seat belt bracket...comes out from under the doorcard....

Cant remember though........

Yes it's one of the seat belt brackets.

I think it's the top one and the metal bar through it locks into the "socket" at the top of the pillar behind the drivers ear.

I remember taking it off when replacing my vandalised door handle and lock.

There's a great big bolt goes through it into the top of the door behind a round plastic trim cover the size of a 2 quid coin.

Yeh that is the part. I'm still having difficulty getting the window to shut properly. Is there a simple way to adjust the window pulling in bit.(good at these techy terms)
