Ok, I've been trying to find out what Toad I have on my car, I think its a Ai606. I went out to try to identify it and the fob isn't unlocking the car!

The fob seems fine, the green light illuminates when I press the buttons.

The dashboard LED is flashing red and very quickly. I haven't really paid attention to it before, so not sure if this is normal, but something tells me it should be flashing slower.

The alarm has been fine, although it had started beeping 5 times on activation which apparently indicates a problem with the bonnet switch...which I wasn't too concerned about yet.

It is freezing, the car has several inches of snow on it. I think somehow the problem is cold / snow related. I was thinking maybe the car battery is dying or almost dead, too dead to activate the central locking but enough to flash the LED?

I haven't tried opening the door using the key as it was 21:30 and couldn't start fiddling really...

Could be a flat battery matey, or the fob battery could be flat, but still lighting up the led on the fob? Just a couple of simple ideas...

Yep i had this once, the battery had enough power to light the led but that was it. Plus my doors were frozen shut the other day.

I also had this but when i pressed the button i could see a faint glow in my indicators...only enough to see up close..and ive had it before where my battery terminal has popped off.

I'd tend to agree with the battery in the fob also, happened to me a while back after i dropped the fob. Had to prise it apart and adjust the battery a bit.

I tried the fob again this morning but still nothing. I tried the key in the lock but thats pretty much frozen. I'm going to get myself some WD40 and spray it into the locks tonight, then give it ago. I'll check the fob over too. I'm becoming tired of snow, it ruining my early Zed experience! No man (or women) deserves that! ^_^

I had similar on mine after i had left it parked and locked for three months while i was away couldnt get in via fob and led on dash was flashing fast red when i got in car with key the battery was totally gone replaced and had no problems after

have you tried gettin in through the boot? :)

Haha class idea,

had to do this myself once on a 406 coupe, thank god my arms were skinny enough to reach through the tiny gap between the rear seats up and over to the seat release.. although I was doing it in a secure carpark for about half an hour lying outside a boot with loads of people around, not one person called the police lol

The battery was dead...

The battery is also tiny. I hadn't really noticed when checking the car over before buying, maybe I'm blind! Smallest battery I've ever had, or seen, could maybe power a Big Trax. Obviously not the correct one.

I used the WD40 on the locks, but to get in I took a candle outside and heated the key and slid it in and out, gently twisting it. Got there in the end...

I think passes by thought I was holding a séance, maybe trying to contact Z cars that have passed over...

Thanks for the help everyone! :)

Now...to the battery shop!!

I had no hope through the boot, the lock is frozen solid or doesn't work at all! I'll find out when it warms up I guess. :o
