yep all bmw are rear wheel drive except for the 4x4 so snow chains on the front are a big FAIL:lol:

i was gonna say what a numpty but i drove my volvo for 6 moths thinking it was rear wheel drive only to find out it was a frontie . felt like rear wheel drive today in the sludge .

The best estate I ever drove was ths Volvo 240 I had 3 of them and would buy another if I could find a good one:thumbup:

i had a 740 and it was supurb . currently i use an 850 . fantastic cars , stange for a volvo estate being front wheel drive . goes against the grain a bit but still a great car .

I love my BMW's....

I love BMWs too, but I've always known they are rear wheel drive. I even knew a real quirkie thing about the M3 when it was in it's Left Hand Drive ONLY phase, it was a 4 cylinder. It basically used a 1.6 engine, re-stroked and re-bored to be a 2.3, when BMW already had a 2.3 engine available in the form of the 6 cylinder 325i. :D

Fooking 8" of snow fell in about an hour where I was on Saturday.

 

I was stuck in loughton pushing cars up the hills (i.e. all queueing up to get up it).

When it came to my turn, everyone was expecting the M5 to be spinning and sliding all over the place but I'd already fitted the chains (on the BACK wheels). I didn't even need a push :)
