I'm sure I saw an ad for a recordable door alarm, that you could record say ten messeges and when the doorbell is pressed, it plays a random messege. Can't find anything about it and wondered if anyone has come across anything like that?

ahh i see what your getting at, you can get sounded burgular alarms that sound when someone comes to the door, you can record multiple sounds so the dogs bark is different everytime

people who knock at our door get faced with an alsatian pounding at it, barking like mad dont neede the bell lol

 

maybe check some gadgetshop type sites though

My Kassy does a brilliant job of keeping people away from my front door and want to keep up that appearance when I'm walking her ;) Thieves have started their Christmas shopping round here :(

Really that’s not good mate is the Z alarmed?, i have cctv and a back up sign that used to read beware of the German shepherd but one of my mates put crossed tape over the shepherd bit lol, i left it like that as people just stare blankly at it thinking wtf?

GSD's have that effect on people, I love letting junk mail people come near my door and then let my dog know there's someone coming. You'd think she's the devil dog! lol

 

More worried about them getting in my house, they just did my friends Mum's house and her neighbour up the road this week :( I've got good door locks and alarm but a German Shepherd does more than those :)

that the beauty of an 8.5 stone american bulldog, ive wedged the doors open and he has the run of the house ATM, if you venture into my house you will be mauled to death and riddick will be hidden when the police come as they will want to put him down as the fookin doo gooders will class him as a dangerous dog

 

riddick ran into a closed patio door from the inside, he didnt stop till he got to the fence at the top of the garden, he was chasing a bird lol

 

never felt the door at all

Yeah she can be very noisy and protects the house well, even when someone comes to the door canvasing there usually behind the Z on the drive by the time you open the door

 

you not thought of a cheap cctv system with an sd card to start recording if someone approaches i think they can change the tv prog your watching to so you can see whats going on!

problem is when you're out walking your dog............

im actually lucky as i never take ridds out till shell is in, also my dad lives next door and is always in

 

most people round here know's that ridds doesnt bark when im not in, he just sits and looks at the door lol

 

so no barking could usually mean im not in but ridds is, if he barks then we are all in lol

ahhhh ok i dont face that issue i have two, i'd say gadget shops are your best bet then instead of mainstream sites like e-bay and argos
