Ok so i put my breaker on Gumtree for parts and i got an email off a guy wanting to buy the complete thing so i emailed him saying that was possible and then was asked for a price without him even knowing what was left. I said a very reasonable £1000 then i got this email

 

Hello Mate,

Thanks for the mail, the price is affordable, so i want you to get

back to me with your paypal email account or your bank details, so

that i can proceed with the payment as soon as you get back to me with

the details.

I then thought hold on you dont even know what the car looks like and what is left on it. Then after emailing pics, telling him what was left and asking for a quick response as i had buying waiting for parts i then got the same email today TWICE which may be a mis click but is a simple cut and paste of above. Emails have now turned to abuse as i called him a lunatic and advised if he wanted a zed he should get a PS3 with GT5. Seems to me like a scammer after account details however his name is Lennie Brandy if anyone comes across him

all he needs is your email for pay pal didnt need your account details ...find which town he lives in go to the electroal register and find his address...send him a note pointing out how easily he was tracked down....sounds like a nutcase

Nice one for the heads up. Had it tried a few times with me.

My girlfriend had something similar to this when buying a pup and the guy turned abusive saying he was going to track her down and do things to her and her family etc.

I traced the dude's IP to Tunisia when he was "selling" the pup from somewhere based in England.

 

Oh if only you could meet people like this face to face!

Yeah,I had the same recently from gumtree as well,selling a clio,guy didnt ask about the car,only payment details.I just wrote back saying it was sold.You can spot these scammers usually from gumtree ,ebay fridayads etc.
